WTEB takes over the operational management of the Moni-Limassol wastewater treatment plant in Cyprus.

By letter dated 08.09.2020, the contract for the 5-year operation management of the Moni wastewater treatment plant was awarded to WTE Wassertechnik GmbH. The operation management is scheduled to start on November 1, 2020 and will be handled by WTE Betriebsgesellschaft. The contract has an option to extend for another five years.

The Moni wastewater treatment plant is located approximately 20 km east of the city of Limassol, directly on the sea. It has a capacity of 40,000 m³/d. A digestion plant with a CHP unit as well as two photovoltaic systems are part of the plant management.

With 235,000 inhabitants, Limassol is the second largest city in Cyprus after the capital Nicosia. The port city is located on the southern coast of the island, in the bay of Akrotiri, and is considered a center for tourism and trade.

For vacationers Limassol offers numerous beaches, which invite to sunbathing and swimming. Thanks to the management of the wastewater treatment plant by the WTE operating company, both the locals and the numerous tourists can benefit from the seawater quality, because the wastewater is treated according to the strictest standards. Also with this environmental project we care for the well-being of people and nature.
