As a company group that treats wastewater responsibly and supplies drinking water in perfect quality, we actively protect the environment – every day. The responsibilities and workflows relating to environmental protection in our work and in our results are governed by a group-wide environmental management system.

As we operate sustainably in the interest of the environment, we are now one of the main companies involved in Europe’s closed-loop waste management system.

The WTE Group takes and supports a wide range of measures for the protection of natural resources:

  • We are committed to complying with all legal regulations on the basis of the technical codes and the provisions of permits we have been granted.
  • By treating, preventing and retaining wastewater with functional plants, we make a major contribution to the preservation and improvement of water quality.
  • In the extension, conversion, construction and maintenance of our plants, we use environmentally friendly methods, materials and equipment.
  • Sewage sludge and waste is fed back into environmentally sound utilisation cycles wherever possible and economically practical.
  • Recovering phosphorus from sewage sludge ash contributes to resolving key problems relating to the future.
  • With plants that are continuously adjusted to suit changing requirements and with targeted maintenance, we secure high quality standards with a high level of cost-effectiveness and appropriate fees.
  • We adopt organisational regulations to avoid disruptions to operation or, where this is not possible, to minimise their negative impact.
  • Regular inspections, maintenance and appropriate repair work are performed to ensure that our plants run smoothly.
