WTE will erect WWTP in Kočani

At the beginning of 2017, WTE Wassertechnik GmbH, Essen, received the order to build the new wastewater treatment plant Kočani in the North-East of Macedonia.

Prior to this the City of Kočani got a grant of CHF 15.8 million by resolution of the Swiss Federal Council, in order to improve the environmental situation.

Hereupon an environmental project was announced to plan and build the new wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 50,000 PE (optionally 65,000 PE). After having participated in the tender successfully, WTE was invited to attend contract negotiations. During this process an option was discussed for an extended 65,000 PE variant, including anaerobic digestion with subsequent composting, which was jointly adopted.

Only the year before, WTE successfully entered the Macedonian market by winning the tenders for the construction of the wastewater treatment plants in Radovish, Kichevo und Strumica.
