How the 16th Aachen Conference on Water Technology went for WTE

On November 11 and 12, the 16th Aachen Conference on Water Technology took place at Eurogress Aachen (we reported here) – one of the most important German-language platforms for exchange between research, industry, and practice. With over 400 participants, the event offered a broad discussion forum and enabled direct exchange between representatives from companies, research institutions, and administration.

Under the main theme of “Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment Processes,” the conference presented a varied program of interdisciplinary lectures, current research results, and a central trade exhibition.

WTE Wassertechnik was represented with its own booth and took the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from science, plant engineering, and environmental technology. Particularly pleasing: the NERO process developed by WTE met with great interest among many visitors and led to numerous discussions about innovative approaches to wastewater treatment.

WTE also made an active contribution to the technical side of things:
As part of the conference program, our Cornelius Kappelhoff presented a lecture entitled “Experimental and Simulative Biological Denitrification in a Pilot-Scale Filtration Reactor for the Treatment of Nitrate-Containing Retentate.” In it, he presented current project results and methodological developments, which met with an enthusiastic response from the expert audience.

With its combination of trade exhibition, dialogue with industry experts, and our contribution to the lecture program, the conference once again demonstrated how important the exchange between research and application is for the further development of modern water technologies. For WTE, the event was a valuable source of inspiration – both for current and future projects.
