The Municipality of Kichevo has received a new Wastewater Treatment Plant

The new wastewater treatment plant permanently solves the problem of wastewater in the municipality and raises the standards for environmental protection.

The Municipality of Kicevo has received a new Wastewater Treatment Plant, which permanently solves the problem of wastewater in the municipality and raises the standards for environmental protection. The plant has an installed capacity for 48,000 inhabitants.

At the opening event Mr. Koco Angjusev, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Coordination with Economic Sectors, Mr. Samuel Žbogar, Head of the Delegation of the European Union Ambassador, Mr. Sadulla Duraki, Minister for Environment and Physical Planning and Mr. Fatmir Dehari, Mayor of the Municipality of Kicevo were present.

The Project for construction of wastewater treatment plant in Kicevo is financed by the European Union through the instrument for Pre-Accession Assinstance (IPA), from the regional development segment – Component Three. The total value of the wastewater treatment plant in Kichevo is 8.3 million euros.

The company WTE Group, which is owned by EVN Group, built the wastewater treatment plant. WTE Group is a leading water supply and wastewater treatment company in the EU market, present in 18 European countries.

The Wastewater Treatment plant in Kicevo was built in less than two years and it is the second inaugurated plant as part of this project. The first wastewater treatment plant is located near Strumica and the third treatment plant, located in Radovish is expected to be commissioned soon. The total value of thiese facilities is 21 million euros.
