Expansion of sludge treatment system in Gdynia/Poland

In November 2018, the WTE Group received an assignment from its Polish subsidiary to expand the sludge treatment at the Gdynia sewage treatment plant.

The new contract will be implemented by WTE Polska as a consortium leader and the Szczecin company PUH Rusiecki as consortium partner. The project was carried out on behalf of Pewik Gdynia (Municipal Water and Wastewater Works) by the Consortium.

Together with its consortium partner PUH Rusiecki, WTE will construct an additional three sludge digester with a volume of 6,400 m³ each, as well as a technical building to accommodate the additional mechanical equipment, integration into the existing system of the I&C technology. The planning and construction period for the overall project with an investment volume of approx. EUR 16 m will be 36 months.

Gdynia is a city in the Pomeranian Voivodeship of Poland and a seaport of Gdánsk Bay on the south coast of the Baltic Sea. Gdynia is part of a conurbation with the spa town of Sopot, the city of Gdánsk and suburban communities, which together form a metropolian area called the Tricity, with a population of over a million people.
